leadership experience.Specifics: This working Supervisor role will
be responsible for schedules for IR Rad Techs, payroll, familiar
with IR supplies, scheduling process, and be able to fill in
staffing with call. They will supervise 8-10 IR Rad Techs, 2
schedulers, 1 supply tech, and 1 clinical service tech. This person
will report to the Nurse Manager and Director of Radiology

and Specialty ClinicsJOB SUMMARYThe Special Imaging Supervisor is
accountable for assisting the Management team in the supervision,
planning, organizing and improvement of work processes in one of
the various specialty sections of Radiology services, such as CT,
MRI, US, IR or Nuclear Medicine as instructed by the Director
and/or Radiologist; Performs department orientation, teaches,
coaches, supervises staff and performs imaging exams in the
modalities that they supervise. Assures the organizations vision,
mission, values and goals are adhered to and implied Recommends and
assists in development of policies and procedures to comply with
regulatory organizations and Baylor Scott & White Health
philosophy. Acts as a department liaison in the manager's
absence.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEOversees the delivery and
quality of imaging services with respect to turnaround times,
quality of exams performed and patient preparation in a timely,
accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established
System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures. Performs
procedures, as needed, due to workload or complexity.Ensures
adequate staffing levels, supplies and resources are available to
perform exams and clinical services to meet clinical demands.
Schedules, monitors, evaluates and modifies staffing patterns in
order to properly provide services in assigned areas.Interviews,
counsels, and completes performance evaluations. Trains new staff
and Ensures all registrations and certifications are current, on
file and up to date. Partners with the management team and staff to
conduct multidisciplinary staff meetings to ensure consistent and
timely communication throughout the department.Facilitates goal
setting for staff working in the imaging sections. Monitors goals,
achievements and Ensures the outcome of the goals is reflected in
the annual performance evaluations. Encourages employees to
participate in Employee Satisfaction Surveys, Patient Safety
surveys and other activities providing service feedback results to
staff. Initiates a plan of action related to areas of
improvement.Partners with Management to develop a budget for the
department - including providing feedback on new and replacement
equipment and services needed for continued growth - monitors
operational budgets and implements corrective action plans for
negative productivity and operating expense variances.Promotes a
culture of service excellence in the imaging sections by partnering
with management to communicate service excellence and patient
centeredness expectations, and customer satisfaction survey
results. Holds self and staff accountable for service excellence in
their areas of responsibility, and facilitates reward and
recognition in the imaging sections of Radiology.Acts as a
Radiology liaison to other departments. Develops and maintains
cooperative working relationships with physicians and other medical
departments in order to gather and exchange information, develop
and implement solutions to problems. Assist in developing,
reviewing, revising, submitting and implementing policies,
procedures and goals that help Department and System goals.Assists
in ensuring the imaging sections are compliant with The Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO),
the Texas Department of Health (TDH) standards, and other
accrediting bodies.Identifies patient service requirements by
utilizing AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure they
perform the correct exam on the correct patient, establishing
personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other
persons in a position to know about the service
requirements.Coordinates and runs groups focusing on patient
safety, customer service, performance improvement, environment of
Care, Employee Engagement, Physician Engagement, Quality
Improvement, Inter-Departmental Relations, etc. Participates in
mutual governance, department, hospital, or professional
organizations and committees. This can also include LEAN
initiatives, 5S projects, inter-departmental committees, or any
professional organization participation, QC assurance with
radiologist, etc.KEY SUCCESS FACTORSAble to perform high quality
advanced imaging procedures according to exam protocol and in
compliance with established System and regulatory standards,
policies and procedures in a timely manner, and explain the
procedure to put patients at ease.Able to perform tasks exclusively
without need for routine oversight.Able to maintain a calm and
helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate
and reasonable steps to resolve issues.Able to ensure customer
satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service,
remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores and
developing action plans when required.Demonstrates and maintains
current knowledge, continued education and skills appropriate care
for the following age groups (specific to department): newborn,
pediatric, young adult, adult and geriatric.Able to serve as
preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on
new services and initiatives.Able to make tactical outcomes around
the allocation and direction of the work of supervised employees
using established guidelines, policies and/or procedures.Able to
make effective hiring and termination recommendations.Able to
train, and evaluate performance of supervised staff.General
computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office,
information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic
medical documentation, and email.Able to take call, if

EDUCATION-Grad of an Accredited Program- EXPERIENCE-3 years of IR
Tech experience-IR leadership experience-Neuro and Trauma
experience preferred- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION-Medical
Radiologic Tech (MRT): MRT from Texas Medical Board required.-Must
have one of the following: ARRT-CT Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT),
ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R), or ARRT-VI Interventional Rad
